Struggling to cover the cost of your Tresiba prescription? Healthcare expenses are at an all-time high, and many people managing diabetes find insulin costs overwhelming.

At The Rx Advocates, we help patients access manufacturer patient assistance programs that provide substantial monthly savings. Through PAPs, eligible patients pay a low, fixed monthly fee. We handle the entire process so you can stay on treatment without financial stress.

What is the Tresiba Patient Assistance Program?

Pharmaceutical manufacturers operate Patient Assistance Programs (PAPs) to help eligible patients access medications they otherwise couldn’t afford. Unlike coupons that expire or have pharmacy restrictions, these programs provide reliable monthly medication access for patients who meet income requirements.

Our team handles your application, coordinates with your doctor to gather documentation, and submits everything to the manufacturer. Once approved, we track enrollment and manage refills so your insulin arrives consistently.

How to Qualify

One question we receive a lot – do I qualify for patient assistance programs? If you meet specific income and residency standards, you will, and our team helps patients understand these requirements to determine if it’s right for your circumstances.

Typical requirements to qualify include:

  • Individuals qualify if they earn up to $40,000 annually
  • Couples qualify if they earn up to $60,000 annually
  • Larger families qualify if they earn up to $100,000 annually
  • U.S. residency and a valid prescription

These thresholds ensure programs remain accessible to people struggling with prescription costs. Contact us and we’ll evaluate your circumstances.

The Rx Advocates Can Help Reduce Tresiba Costs

We work with pharmaceutical companies across the US that run patient assistance programs. Commercial insurance status doesn’t affect eligibility. People with insurance and those without can both benefit.

We’re not a savings card provider, and we don’t distribute coupons. We complete patient assistance applications on your behalf, coordinate paperwork with your healthcare provider, and submit applications to manufacturers. Our service fee stays fixed even when retail insulin prices climb.

Why PAPs Are Better Than Coupons

Coupons seem convenient until you encounter their limitations. For ongoing diabetes management requiring daily insulin, these restrictions become major obstacles.

Disadvantages of coupons

  • Restrictions: Only work at specific pharmacies or during limited timeframes
  • Copay Accumulators: Insurance copay accumulators prevent savings from counting toward your out-of-pocket maximum
  • Expiration Dates: Expire and require constant searching for replacements
  • Limited Coverage: Leave substantial costs even after discount

Advantages of PAP through The Rx Advocates

  • Fixed Monthly Cost: Service fees stay consistent regardless of retail price increases
  • No Expiration: Support continues for the entire duration of medication needs
  • Direct From Manufacturer: Insulin supplied reliably from the pharmaceutical source
  • Broad Support: Access extends to over 800 FDA-approved prescription medications

With The Rx Advocates, patients pay a fixed monthly service fee, which depends on the number of medications covered.

  • 1 Medication (Tresiba only) – $80 per month
  • 2 Medications (Tresiba + 1 other) – $90 per month
  • 3 Medications (Tresiba + 2 others) – $100 per month

Importantly, there are no hidden fees, and prices remain consistent even if retail costs fluctuate.

Right now, Tresiba costs around $602.38 for a 30-day supply at retail pharmacies.

Multiple variables affect pricing:

  • Dosage: Available in 100 units/mL (vial or pen, up to 80 units per injection) and 200 units/mL (pen only, up to 160 units per injection)
  • Location: Geographic area impacts local pharmacy pricing
  • Pharmacy: Different pharmacies charge different amounts
  • Insurance Coverage: Commercial insurance with medication coverage dramatically reduces out-of-pocket expenses

Most patients meet income requirements: singles earning under $40,000 yearly, couples with combined income below $60,000, or large families with household income under $100,000. Contact us to discuss your financial situation.

We manage everything: gathering paperwork from your prescriber, completing manufacturer applications, tracking approval status, and scheduling insulin deliveries. You stay informed without doing administrative work.

About Tresiba

Tresiba (insulin degludec) is an ultra-long-acting basal insulin medication. It is primarily prescribed for adults and children with type 1 and type 2 diabetes to improve blood sugar control.

Mechanism of action: Tresiba regulates glucose metabolism by stimulating peripheral glucose uptake and inhibiting hepatic glucose production. Its ultra-long action lasting up to 40 hours provides consistent control with once-daily dosing.

Additional uses: Tresiba offers flexible once-daily dosing for diabetes management. Take once every 24 hours or follow your physician’s instructions.

Form & administration: Administered by the patient as a subcutaneous injection once daily. Available as 100 units/mL (10 mL vial or pre-filled pen) and 200 units/mL (pre-filled pen only). The 100 units/mL pen delivers a maximum 80 units per injection; the 200 units/mL pen delivers up to 160 units.

Side effects:

  • Common: hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), injection site reactions, weight gain.
  • Serious: severe hypoglycemia, hypokalemia (low potassium levels).
  • Warning: contraindicated for patients allergic to insulin degludec; never use during hypoglycemic episodes or diabetic ketoacidosis; inform doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding.
