Who are The Rx Advocates?

The Rx Advocates help you apply for patient assistance programs offered by pharmaceutical companies to receive brand name medications for a set service fee dependent upon the number of medications needed. We work with more than 100 United States pharmaceutical manufacturers’ patient assistance programs. The list of medications that we help people obtain includes the top 100 prescribed medications in the United States. We assist people with more than 800 FDA-approved medications.

People who are approved for our services will not ever pay for extra services or encounter any hidden costs. When we help patients obtain one prescription medication, they will pay a set fee of $60 each month to receive that medication. People who need assistance from us for two medications will pay a set fee of $70, for three medications they will pay $80, and for 4+ medications they will pay $90 each month.

The Rx Advocates is not a coupon, health insurance plan, or discount card. We help patients receive their monthly prescription medications at an affordable price. We make it possible for people to receive the treatments they need so they can live a quality life.

Viibryd Prescription Discounts:
Frequently Asked Questions

Viibryd (Vilazodone HCl) is a prescription medicine used to treat Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) in adults. This medication is not approved for use in children.

In studies of other antidepressants, children and young adult patients experienced a short-term increase in suicidal thoughts and behaviors. When starting this medication call your doctor right away if you experience any of these symptoms, especially if they are new, worsening, or of concern to you: suicidal thoughts, suicidal behaviors.

Other potential side effects of antidepressants can include changes in behavior and mood, including increased aggression, new or worsening depression, new or worsening anxiety, panic attacks, feeling agitated or restless, new or worse irritability, trouble sleeping, and an extreme increase in activity and talking (mania).

Do not start Viibryd if you are taking a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) without speaking with your doctor first. If you are taking the antibiotic linezolid, speak with your doctor before starting Viibryd.

Viibryd should also not be used with methylene blue, an intravenous medication that may be administered in a hospital setting.

Other conditions to tell your healthcare provider about include:

  • Have or have a family history of suicide, depression, bipolar disorder, mania, or hypomania.
  • Have or had bleeding problems
  • Have or had seizures or convulsions
  • Have low salt (sodium) levels in your blood
  • Drink alcohol
  • Pregnant or plan to become pregnant
  • Are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed.

The cost of Viibryd can vary based on the following factors:  the amount of the dosage prescribed by the doctor, the location of the patient, the location of the pharmacy, and whether or not the patient has health insurance.

As of March 2021, people can expect to pay between $300-$400 for a month’s supply. This medication comes in 10 mg (pink oval), 20 mg (orange oval) or 40 mg (blue oval)  film-coated tablets.

The Rx Advocates do not offer coupons. It is important to understand how coupons work. Many people will go on the Internet to search for coupons when their healthcare provider prescribes them Viibryd. This medication is very expensive to pay the full retail price for. However, people began to realize that coupons do not offer the type of savings that can really make a difference from month to month.

Viibryd coupons still leave people paying hundreds of dollars each month out of pocket. For example, as of March 2021, a patient may still pay as much as $323.00 for a Rite Aid coupon. Viibryd cost $391.00 at Rite Aid without a coupon. So this is not a very substantial savings.

There are various names for prescription drug coupons such as copay cards, copay coupons, copay assistance programs, and pharmacy coupons. Prescription drug coupons represent a program funded by the pharmaceutical company which helps to lower the out-of-pocket cost of prescription medication for patients. This sounds beneficial, but it is important to recognize the limitations of these coupons. Most coupons are for a limited time only. They may help patients get started on their medication at a significantly lower price, but these savings do not last long.  There are some coupons that help lower the initial cost of the medication but they do not cover subsequent months. It is inconvenient for people to have to leave their homes to go pick up their medication and present their coupons to the pharmacist.

These cards are most beneficial to people who pay cash for their medications. They provide a way for people to obtain their medication at a lower cost. These cards do not cost anything and are available to people with health insurance and without health insurance.

Savings programs bargain their drug discounts on prescription medications like Viibryd. Through these negotiations, people are able to access lower prices through their prescription discount cards.
