Is your Trulicity prescription costing you too much? If so, you’re not alone. People are always searching for ways to save on their prescription medications, especially when taking them on an ongoing basis. Paying the out-of-pocket cost of Trulicity, the popular med used to control Type 2 Diabetes,  can be prohibitively expensive without using a Trulicity coupon, a discount savings card, or a patient assistance program.

People should never have to go without their medication because it is too expensive for them to purchase each month. The Rx Advocates provides assistance to people so they can afford their medications through programs called patient assistant programs. People save hundreds of dollars through these programs.

Who are The Rx Advocates?

The Rx Advocates are an advocacy program that is well known across the United States. Today, we work with more than 100 United States-based pharmaceutical manufacturers’ patient assistance programs. The medications we help people to be able to have access to at an affordable price are among the top 100 medications prescribed by doctors. We are able to accommodate people in obtaining more than 800 FDA-approved medications.

When patients work with The Rx Advocates, they will never come up against hidden costs or additional fees. Patients pay a service fee each month that is based on the number of medications that we help them obtain at an affordable price. The service fee is $80 if the patient needs only one medication. If a patient needs 2 medications the service fee is $90. For patients needing 3 medications, their service fee is $100. For 4 or more medications, the service fee is $110.

The Rx Advocates, is not a health insurance plan, prescription discount card, or coupon. We are a program that is interested in helping people be able to access the medication they need in order to maintain quality and healthy life. When patients work with us, they discover that they are able to get their medications at a much more affordable price than a coupon or savings card can give them.

Trulicity Prescription Discounts:
Frequently Asked Questions

Trulicity (dulaglutide) is a medication used to treat people with type 2 diabetes. Trulicity lowers blood sugar in three different ways:

  • It decreases the amount of glucose secreted by the liver
  • It increases the amount of insulin released by the pancreas
  • It slows down the movement of food through the gastrointestinal tract, lowering post-prandial (post-meal) blood sugar

It is important that people with diabetes type 2 know that Trulicity is not insulin even though it’s an injectable medication. Trulicity is injected once per week on the same day. In addition to lowering blood sugar, it decreases the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack, stroke, and death.

There are other medications to help people with Type 2 Diabetes control their blood sugar levels such as:

Patients with type 2 diabetes can speak with their doctor about which medication is best for them. It is possible that patients may need to try multiple ones to find the one that keeps their blood sugar at a safe level.

We do not offer coupons as part of our program but we want to still explain what a Trulicity coupon is and how it works. When people are prescribed this medication by their doctor to help them control their type 2 diabetes, they will likely explore the internet for a coupon to help them save money on this very exorbitant medication. They quickly discover that coupons do not save them enough money to really make a difference in the cost. Trulicity coupons save people some money but still leave them having to pay hundreds of dollars for this medication each month. Even with the coupon, most people will not be able to afford this medication monthly.

Prescription drug coupons go by the following names: copay cards, copay coupons, copay assistance programs, and pharmacy coupons.

Prescription drug coupons oftentimes represent a program that has been funded by the pharmaceutical company that will assist in lowering the out-of-pocket drug costs for patients. While this sounds beneficial, these coupons can have limitations such as the following:

  •  Coupons are usually only for a restricted time frame. Coupons may help people get started on their medication at a significantly lower price; however, the savings do not help to keep the price low.
  • Some coupons cover the first month of a prescription but not the subsequent months.
  • Patients will need to go to the Pharmacy to pick up medication and present the coupon to the pharmacist in order to receive the savings.
A prescription discount card is a card that permits people to attain lower drug costs for their medications. These cards are most valuable for people who pay for their medications with cash. These cards can be obtained for free, and they are accessible to people who have health insurance and people who do not have health insurance. Various savings programs haggle their drug discounts on medications like Trulicity. Patients are in a position to secure lower prices for their medications through their prescription discount cards.

Copay assistance programs or copay coupons are available to aid in offsetting the cost of the copay for prescriptions for people who have health insurance. Copay Assistance Programs are not for those who would have to pay for their medications out of pocket.

Many brand-name medications propose Copay Assistance Programs as a way to empower providers and patients to choose them over the generic form of the medication. Here is a notable occurrence of how this works:

A patient has a choice between a $1,400 brand-name medication or a $100 generic medication. Under their insurance plan, their copay would be $20 regardless of which one they choose. However, with a copay assistance program, the pharmaceutical company makes a lot more money on the brand name drug. They have made it more attractive to the patient by covering their copay and their insurance company still must pay the outstanding balance of $1,380 for the medication.
