Your hands don’t work right anymore. Rheumatoid arthritis swelled the joints until you can’t open bottles or type without pain. Maybe it’s Crohn’s keeping you housebound, afraid to venture far from a bathroom. Or psoriatic arthritis covering your skin in scales while your knees and elbows throb. Whatever autoimmune disease brought you to the rheumatologist’s office, you left with a prescription for Rinvoq and genuine hope it might give you your life back. That hope lasted until you called the pharmacy.

Our team at The Rx Advocates has heard this story hundreds of times. We specialize in connecting people to patient assistance programs that make medications like Rinvoq actually affordable, not just slightly less impossible.

What is the Rinvoq Patient Assistance Program?

Pharmaceutical companies sponsor programs for patients managing autoimmune and inflammatory diseases who face financial barriers. The program ensures qualifying individuals maintain consistent access to Rinvoq without cost preventing disease control.

You provide your rheumatologist’s prescription and household income documentation. Our team coordinates with your doctor’s office, compiles materials, submits your application, and monitors progress until approval. Once you’re enrolled, your medication ships on schedule.

We’re a drug advocacy program that helps people across the US access their monthly medications at more affordable rates. We partner with pharmaceutical companies that offer financial assistance programs to eligible patients.

How to Qualify

Eligibility is based on several criteria. People qualify if they meet one of the following:

  • Singles earning less than $40,000 yearly
  • Couples whose combined annual income is less than $60,000
  • Larger families with annual income of less than $100,000
  • Valid prescription from licensed healthcare provider

However, it’s important to note that even if you meet these guidelines, approval isn’t guaranteed. The eligibility criteria for patient assistance vary across programs. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us to find out if you qualify.

Why Patient Assistance Programs Beat Coupons

While coupons can offer temporary savings, they aren’t dependable or long-term solutions. Patient assistance programs deliver greater long-term savings.

Coupon limitations

  • Pharmacy restrictions: Not valid in all pharmacies
  • Copay accumulators: Might not count toward out-of-pocket maximum
  • Expiration dates: Usually valid only for short time
  • Limited coverage: Provide only minimal assistance when retail price is high
  • In-person redemption: Must present coupon to pharmacist in person

PAP advantages

  • Greater savings: Deliver more substantial long-term savings
  • Stable solution: More reliable than temporary coupons
  • Fixed costs: Service fee remains constant regardless of retail price
  • Home delivery: Medications delivered to your door at no extra cost

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

We’ve compiled answers to some of the most common questions about Rinvoq and patient assistance programs.

With The Rx Advocates, patients pay a fixed monthly service fee, which depends on the number of medications covered.

  • 1 Medication (Rinvoq only) – $80 per month
  • 2 Medications (Rinvoq + 1 other) – $90 per month
  • 3 Medications (Rinvoq + 2 others) – $100 per month
  • 4+ Medications – $110 per month

Importantly, there are no hidden fees, and prices remain consistent even if retail costs fluctuate.

Without a patient assistance program, Rinvoq is very expensive.

Several factors influence the final price a patient may pay:

  • Dosage: Higher prescribed strengths or quantities cost more
  • Location: Prices vary by region due to healthcare and pharmacy pricing differences
  • Pharmacy: Each pharmacy sets its own retail structure, which can cause major variations
  • Insurance Coverage: Patients with commercial insurance may pay less, while those without coverage often face the full retail cost

This means that two patients could pay very different amounts for the same prescription, depending on where they live, where they buy their medication, and their insurance status.

Most patients meet the requirements when annual household income stays below $40k for individuals, $60k for couples, or $100k for larger families. Since manufacturer requirements can differ, The Rx Advocates assess each case individually to determine eligibility.

The Rx Advocates manage enrollment and monthly refills, coordinating all necessary paperwork with your prescribing physician, submitting completed applications to manufacturers, and arranging medication deliveries to prevent treatment interruptions.

About Rinvoq

Rinvoq is a once-a-day pill used to treat autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.

How it works: The body’s inflammatory response is controlled by a variety of proteins called Janus kinases. In autoimmune diseases, these proteins trigger excessive inflammation that damages healthy tissue. Rinvoq stops the activity of some of these proteins, suppressing the immune system to reduce inflammation and prevent further tissue damage.

Administration: Taken once daily as a pill. Your doctor determines the appropriate dose based on your condition. Consistent daily use is essential for controlling inflammation and preventing disease flares.

Side effects:

  • Common: Upper respiratory infections, nausea, headache, fever
  • Serious: Severe infections including tuberculosis, increased risk of cardiovascular death, cancers including lymphomas and melanomas, blood clots, gastrointestinal perforations

Important warnings: Because Rinvoq affects the immune system, people taking it are more prone to getting infections. Your healthcare provider should test for tuberculosis before starting you on Rinvoq.
