Accessing the Epclusa patient assistance program with The Rx Advocates

The Rx Advocates helps those seeking a sustainable way to afford their monthly medications. We are a drug advocacy program committed to helping people gain prescription benefits and lower their out-of-pocket costs. We work closely with US-based pharmaceutical companies that offer financial assistance in the form of patient assistance programs. Anyone can apply for these programs, but it can be hard to find the right one, and the application process can be exhausting. We make your life much easier by handling the application process for you!

You can qualify for the Epclusa patient assistance program regardless of insurance coverage. Due to a prescription drug coverage gap in some Medicare plans, those whose drug expenses exceed the coverage limit often end up with substantial out-of-pocket costs, and those who cannot afford them may skip their medications, putting their health at risk.

What if I told you The Rx Advocates can help you access your medications at affordable rates? No more skipping your medication or endlessly searching for Epclusa coupons. Our clients do not have to worry about hidden fees, as our pricing is transparent. We charge a one-time enrollment fee of $35. Our service is then month to month, so if you’re not satisfied, you may cancel at any time. Our monthly service fee ranges from $80–$110, depending on how many medications you need financial assistance with. Here’s how it works:

  • 1 Medication (Epclusa only) – $80 per month
  • 2 Medications (Epclusa + 1 other) – $90 per month
  • 3 Medications (Epclusa + 2 others) – $100 per month
  • 4+ Medications – $110 per month

The Rx Advocates is not an Epclusa coupon or savings card provider but a means of accessing medications at affordable prices through the prescription benefits and financial assistance provided by patient assistance programs.

Epclusa coupon restrictions

Are you unsatisfied with the limited savings offered by Epclusa coupons? Coupons offer only temporary savings and are not a good solution if you’re looking for a long-term savings plan. Here are a few coupon limitations:

  • Coupons often restrict where and how they can be used. For example, a coupon might be valid only at participating retail pharmacies or for a limited time. Some cover the first month’s prescription but not refills.
  • Due to a copay accumulator attached to your health insurance plan, you may have to pay the full cost of the medication, as a coupon may not count toward your insurance’s out-of-pocket maximum.
  • Coupons become invalid once they expire and typically have a short time frame for use, requiring you to find other ways to cut costs on future prescriptions.
  • To benefit from Epclusa coupon savings, people often must physically visit a pharmacy to present the coupon to the pharmacist. This can be difficult for those who are elderly or bedridden.

The Epclusa patient assistance program is a much better option for long-term savings and convenience than an Epclusa coupon or savings card. You won’t have to worry about expiration dates or pharmacy restrictions, making these programs a more convenient and reliable option.

The cost of Epclusa without a coupon

As of January 2024, the average retail Epclusa cost is $25,515.00.

The high price tag is difficult for many people to afford without some form of financial assistance. Many factors contribute to the cost you pay for a prescription drug, such as the dosage prescribed by your healthcare provider, your location, your pharmacy’s location, and your health insurance coverage.

High prescription drug costs are a serious financial burden for many people. Without adequate health insurance, many across the US face the daily dilemma of choosing between paying for everyday expenses or for prescription medications. Our team at The Rx Advocates understands your financial situation, and we want to help you find an affordable, reliable solution.

The Rx Advocates can help you access the Epclusa patient assistance program to get this prescription medication at significantly lower out-of-pocket cost than you can with an Epclusa coupon. And if you’re taking multiple medications, we can help you apply for other patient assistance programs as well! Contact us today to see if you qualify.

Epclusa uses, alternatives, and other FAQs

Epclusa is a once-a-day pill used to treat chronic hepatitis in adults and children over age 3 who have a hepatitis C infection. If left untreated, hepatitis C can cause serious liver problems, such as cirrhosis and liver cancer. Sofosbuvir and velpatasvir, the active ingredients in Epclusa, help prevent the hepatitis C virus from multiplying and spreading in the blood. Epclusa is sometimes used in combination with ribavirin to treat people whose liver damage is already severe or those infected with hepatitis C type 3 genotype, the form most resistant to medication and difficult to treat.

Since drugs comprise chemical substances that affect the body in various ways, it’s important to pay attention to precautions and warnings to ensure safety during and after treatment. Here are a few tips:

  • A combination of Epclusa and ribavirin should be avoided in pregnant women and the male partners of women trying to become pregnant. Ribavirin can cause serious fetal birth problems, such as heart defects and developmental delay.
  • Visit your healthcare provider regularly for thorough check ups to ensure the medication is working effectively and to minimize adverse effects.
  • Avoid using amiodarone while on Epclusa, as it may cause heart problems, such as a slow or irregular heartbeat and heart attack.

If you have had a past hepatitis B infection, you should not use Epclusa, as it may trigger hepatitis B virus reactivation. A previous hepatitis B virus could become active in those taking Epclusa, resulting in a coinfection of hepatitis B and C and potentially leading to fulminant hepatitis, hepatic failure, or death. Before starting you on Epclusa, your healthcare provider will perform hepatitis B screenings to ensure it is safe for you to take the drug.

The treatment regimen for hepatitis C infection varies depending on the virus genotype and whether the patient has liver problems; a history of other viral hepatitis, such as hepatitis B infection; or other coexisting medical conditions. Here are some alternative medications you can consider if taking Epclusa is not the best choice for you.

Serious adverse effects of Epclusa

Every drug can cause adverse reactions, and it is important to become familiar with them before starting any new treatment. People taking Epclusa commonly report experiencing nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches, and fatigue, symptoms that usually resolve on their own as the body adjusts to treatment.

In some patients, especially those with cirrhosis or other advanced liver problems, Epclusa can cause serious adverse effects. If you notice any of the following serious adverse effects, contact your healthcare provider immediately or visit the emergency department of a nearby hospital:

  • Severe anemia, which is common among those with cirrhosis and often manifests as pale skin, extreme or prolonged tiredness, and shortness of breath
  • Sudden stomach pain in the upper right abdomen, where the liver is located, as this may be a sign of an inflamed liver
  • General feeling of severe illness, loss of appetite, and/or multiple episodes of vomiting in a 24-hour period
  • Confusion or memory problems
  • Severe allergic reactions, such as difficulty breathing; swelling of the throat, face, or hands; rash; or feeling faint
  • Difficulty falling or staying asleep
